PORTLAND

We heard a lot of great things about Portland from friends, especially about the food there! So we did a quick weekend trip for B’s birthday and basically ate our way through the city.

Pokpok
Pokpok was our favorite Thai restaurant back in NY so we had to stop by their first location. The wait is not as crazy as the location in NY. Our favorite dishes are Ike’s wings, Muu Paa Kham Waan (boar collar – not pictured), and their pineapple vinegar soda.

Portland’s street food is crazy good and the street carts that go around the whole block are so fun! Here are two of our favorite finds:

Bing Mi
Out of all the jianbing places that I have tried in NY/SF, this is the most authentic version. Loved it so much that we had it twice in two days and got it to go before we left. Get it with extra wonton cracker!

Nong’s Khao Man Gai

I could have this all day every day. Also ate this two times in two days!

Afuri Ramen

Afuri is a well-known chain in Japan and opened their first location outside of Japan in Portland. We didn’t get to go to while we were in Japan so we made sure this was on our list. The best thing about Portland is that there’s no wait time even for the best restaurants!! The space is beautiful with open kitchens and the food was amazing. Request to sit at the ramen bar to watch your ramen getting made!

Hotel: We stayed at the Marriott Downtown Waterfront for the first night but thought the location was too far from everything so we moved to the brand new AC Hotel closer to downtown.

I’ll definitely be back for the Bing Mi!
